The College of Anaesthetists Ireland(CAI) anaesthesia training programme in Malaysia is organized and managed by the College of Anaesthesiologists (COA) Academy of Medicine Malaysia. The FCAI Malaysia is a minimum four years to a maximum of 10 years training programme. It encompasses a test of knowledge, competency and professionalism. A trainee is required to successfully complete all components before the trainee can undergo gazettement as an anaesthesiologist in Malaysia.
Interested candidates are required to register via COA Malaysia website and with Medical Professional Division, Medical Development Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
This programme is organized with the objective of providing a parallel pathway for interested candidates to pursue a career as an anaesthesiologist here in Malaysia. The aim of COA Malaysia is to produce independent, skilled and responsible anaesthesiologists in order to help with the growing need of anaesthesiologists in the country.
